ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDDERS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS 189 WELLS STREET GREENFIELD, MA 01301 Sealed Proposals addressed to the Department of Public Works, 189 Wells Street, Greenfield, Massachusetts and endorsed "Proposal for Contract DPW 26-07, Millbrook Well #2 Rehabilitation" will be accepted by the Department of Public Works in the new DPW Administration Building adjacent to the DPW Yard. Bids will be accepted until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at which time said bids will be publicly opened and read aloud in the Administration Building Meeting Room. The project consists of the following work: a. Before any work is done, record static water level, pumping water level, pumping rate, drawdown, and specific capacity. b. Remove and re-install roof access hatch. c. Remove and re-install pumping equipment. d. Furnish and install new equipment as authorized by City and as set forth in the technical specifications. Refurnish any equipment that is to be reused. e. Furnish and install new well draw down measuring tube and connect tube to existing altitude gauge. f. Redevelop well to maximum specific yield capacity, including cable tool surging, pumping, and chemical treatment if required. g. Disinfect cleaned well and re-install pumping equipment. h. All clean-up, necessary exterior surface repairs, and interior and exterior restoration. i. After completion of all work, record static water level, pumping water level, pumping rate, drawdown, and specific capacity Plans, specifications, and proposal forms will be emailed upon request by contacting ian.hodgdon@greenfield-ma.gov or by downloading them from the City's Purchasing Department's webpage at https://greenfield-ma.gov/departments/procurement/current_bid_opportunities.php. To get on the Bidder's List, proposers should contact the DPW at ian.hodgdon@greenfield-ma.gov or by calling 413-772-1528 x6102. Plans and Specifications will be available starting March 25, 2026. The Bid Security from the Contractor in the form of cash, certified check, treasurer's check, or cashier's check, drawn upon a responsible bank in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or a bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid shall be made payable to the City of Greenfield, Massachusetts and shall be enclosed with the bid. Bids for this project are subject to the provisions of the Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 30, Section 39M as amended. Minimum Wage Rates, as determined by the Commissioner of the Department of Labor and Industries, under the provisions of the Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Sections 26 and 27G, as amended, apply to this project. The following will also apply M.G.L. chapter 149 and 49A-44L. The successful bidder must comply with Chapter 151B as amended, of the Massachusetts General Laws and with the provisions of Executive Order No. 74 as amended, by Executive Order No. 116 dated May 1, 1975, pertaining to Equal Opportunity Anti-Discrimination and Affirmative Action. A 50% Labor & Materials (Payment) Bond will be required of the successful bidder if the cost is more than $25,000. The responsible and eligible bidder offering the lowest price shall be awarded the project, subject to the availability of funding. The City of Greenfield reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding.
