ADVERTISEMENT REQUEST FOR QUOTES DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS 189 Wells Street Greenfield, MA 01301 The City of Greenfield ("Owner", or "City"), is soliciting quotes for the construction of a 16'-8" x 7' x 12" engineered concrete wall anchored on a proposed 16'-8" x 12" x 3' footing that is to be anchored into the existing 6" thick concrete slab within the Greenfield Transfer Station main building. The proposed concrete wall runs north/south 37'-2" from inside of the west wall and to be also anchored into the existing southern concrete wall of the Greenfield Transfer Station located at 86 Cumberland Road, Greenfield, MA. Also, to have an existing 10'-8" x 12'-7" x 5' conveyor pit filled/patched with concrete to a depth of 6". This new pour should be anchored to the existing slab. The conveyor pit is currently filled with gravel. The conveyor pit is lined with sheet metal and the Greenfield DPW will remove the metal before construction required in this contract is performed. The proposal shall be all inclusive, including preparing the project area for construction, constructing the proposed concrete wall, fill/patch the conveyor pit, post construction cleaning of the construction site, and removal of unused materials. The proposed engineered concrete wall is to be located inside the building on the east side of the recycling containment area which is in the southwest corner of the building. The Greenfield Transfer Station is located at 86 Cumberland Road, Greenfield, MA 01301. As of 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, copies of this request for quotes may be obtained from the City of Greenfield website at www.greenfield-ma.gov under "Departments", "Purchasing", "Active Bids/RFQ/RFP" or electronically from the Department of Public Works of the City of Greenfield at Ian.Hodgdon@greenfield-ma.gov. Pursuant to M.G.L. c. 149, Written Quotes in sealed envelopes addressed to the Engineering Superintendent, 189 Wells Street, Greenfield, MA 01301 and endorsed "RFQ #26-08: Greenfield Transfer Station Containment Wall Construction And Pit Filling/Patching" will be accepted until 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 23, 2026. All Quotes will remain in effect for a period of sixty (60) calendar days from the deadline for submission, or until a Quote has been accepted and an agreement has been signed. The estimated budget for this project is $30,000.00 Quotes greater than $25,000 will require a 50% Labor & Materials (Payment) Bond. A pre-bid site visit is scheduled for Friday, April 17, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Greenfield Transfer Station, 86 Cumberland Road in Greenfield, MA. All interested Contractors shall access the property from Petty Plain Road and meet on the west side of the Transfer Station building.
